March 26, 2010 - Walking the Labyrinth
The Rev. Jean K. Ando, an SDG member of the New York/Southwestern Connecticut Chapter was photographed during Lent by The New York Times as she walked a labyrinth in Manhattan's Marble Collegiate Church. Jean is a leader of labyrinth walks as well as a circle dancer and ordained minister.

Nov. 24, 2009 - Franciscans Celebrate 800th Anniversary
New Evangelization Television; Brooklyn, New York
Currents, a news program on this faith-based cable TV station, covered a Nov. 21 danced vespers service at (Roman Catholic) All Saints Church in Manhattan, featuring dancers from SDG’s New York/Southwest Connecticut Chapter and guests, plus clips from an interview with Betsy O'Neill, chapter vice-president. The service celebrated the 800th anniversary of the Franciscan order.

 

Nov. 24 2009 - SDG Member Honored by Pacific School of Religion
SDG Member Carla DeSola was named to the Pacific School of Religion's 2010 list of Distinguished Alumni/ae. The announcement was made November 24 by PSR, which has presented the award annually since 1995.
